Looking to spread a little love this Valentine’s Day? How about empowering the women of Hope Gardens? A couple of giving ladies are making it very easy for you – for us – to do so!
Two friends are getting together, to raise money, and awareness for a great cause by holding a Galentine’s Day celebration. Galentine’s Day is the Valentine’s Day alternative that celebrates female friendship. Stephanie Perry and Rebecca Decker hope to make self-care goody bags for 20 women who have overcome homelessness and now live at Hope Gardens in Buffalo.
Inside each bag – will be skincare, toiletry and personal relaxation items that the housing may not already have – but that everyone enjoys.
How awesome is that!
They are looking for financial sponsors and donations of self-care goods such as soaps, skin, nail, and hair-care products, relaxation aides and food treats in quantities of 20+ similar items. They are asking all Galentines to put $10 (the cost of a cocktail!) toward this project.
Then – the fun happens. On Friday, February 10, they’ll celebrate with some serious crafting to make the goody bags as awesome as they can be. Huddle on Hertel has donated their space so that sponsors of this project can get together to help assemble bags and enjoy some snacks!
When: Friday, Feb 10 from 7-10 p.m.
Where: Huddle on Hertel, 1209 Hertel Avenue, Buffalo
