6-week Yoga series that is focused on you and your needs. What kind of yoga is right for you?

Ask any Yogi and they’ll tell you that everyone needs more yoga in their life. But, they may also tell you that doing the yoga that is right for you – is very important.

Yoga is apparently not a one-size-fits-all approach to exercise.

START WITH SLEEP is getting ready to host a 6-week course of the yoga that is right for you. This approach to yoga is based on the ancient science of ayurveda or science of life. Ayurveda teaches us that we are each born with a unique combination of the five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth.

Soda Kuczkowski and Jessica Mascle will be holding a special course. Here’s how it will work.

It includes seven yoga classes. On our individual journeys to health, we each have different concerns. Some people are dealing with intense anxiety and are waking in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back asleep. Others are facing crippling lethargy and fatigue and struggle with getting out of bed in the morning. Still others are struggling with digestive issues, overly critical attitudes, stress, and have a hard time falling asleep at night

One meal prep course. Learn how to cook and eat like food is your medicine. If you tend to feel anxious and worried or if have issues with aches and pains- there is food that can help you. If you tend to have issues with anger and being overly critical of yourself and others there is a way to eat that can pacify that. If you feel sluggish and uninspired or if you have issues with your sinuses and congestion- you can eat in a way to resolve that. In this class we will make some standard dishes with twists for each of our mind/body needs.

Diet journal and nutrition plan and sleep plan. Feel overweight? Stuck in your career? Confused and indecisive? Uninspired and lethargic? This is how people with accumulated toxins and poor digestion feel, especially in the spring season. When we don’t take the time to cleanse our systems and digest what we have taken in all winter, we will feel “weighed down.”

In this workshop and support group you will learn how a strong digestion is the key to health and happiness. Learn what foods and lifestyle habits help you stoke a strong digestive fire and which put your digestive fire out..

These concepts are rooted in ayurveda which is thousands of years old. Ayurveda, which translates to life-science, sees digestion as the cornerstone of good health. It teaches that we must thoroughly digest not just our food, but also our thoughts, emotions, and experiences if we want to transform our lives. It teaches us to tune in to ourselves and to listen to what our bodies and minds truly need to thrive.

SOOTHE + RELEASE (Pitta)

Mondays : 6pm – 7pm

Having a hard time falling asleep at night? Feel stressed? Issues with digestion? Feel overextended? Feel critical of yourself or others? This class is for you. In this class we will not take ourselves too seriously. Laughter is welcomed! We will move the practice out of our busy minds and  into our physical bodies. We will use our exhalations to let go of built up frustration, anger, and stress. There will be lots of twisting postures and side openers for creating space within our bodies and minds. The class will end with a relaxation and a breath focused meditation. Suitable for those with a pitta constitution, anyone who is needing to pacify a pitta imbalance, or anyone during the summer and early fall season.

GROUND + RELAX (Vata)

Mondays : 7:30pm – 8:30pm

Having issues with waking in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep?Feeling anxious? Indecisive? Frazzled? This class is for you. In this class you will practice yoga at a slow pace. We will move from posture to posture with fluidity; like we are in warm water. We will work on creating a strong foundation from the toes and feet, legs, the seat, hips, and the core. We will work on present moment awareness and staying warm. We will conclude our practice with a long relaxation. Suitable for those with vata constitution, anyone who is needing to pacify a vata imbalance, or anyone during the late fall and winter season.

 

ENERGIZE + MOTIVATE (Kapha)

Thursdays: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Having a hard time getting out of bed in the morning? Feeling uninspired? Feeling lazy? Issues with congestion? This class is for you. This class will have a vigorous pace. We will focus on the subtle body of the chakras and the energy that is pulsing through us. We will work on keeping the shoulders drawn back so our chests are expanded. We will stay in difficult poses for longer periods of time. We will keep a sharp gaze and generate a sense of lightness in our bodies. We will work on precision and alignment in the postures. This class will end with a restorative pose and a breath focused meditation. Suitable for those with a kapha constitution, anyone who is needing to pacify a kapha imbalance, or anyone during the late winter and spring season.
